Job title:
Director of Property Services

You will report to:
Executive Director - Housing

Primary purpose:
To lead the combined Property Services Maintenance, Asset Management and Contractor organisations within emh group covering both emh homes and emh care & support.

Key responsibilities

  1. Lead the delivery of the Property Services function including emh Sharpes to deliver value for money; ensure adoption of best practice and maximise employee engagement.
  2. Ensure operational and financial targets are met across Property Services & emh Sharpes and targets and plans are in line with the group business plan
  3. Ensure working practices are effective, health and safety and safeguarding compliant, and demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity
  4. Ensure key contracts and other commercial arrangements including sub-contracting are effective and well managed
  5. Drive continuous improvement and appropriate social housing and commercial benchmarking to ensure the ongoing competitiveness of the services and to maximise benefits of innovations and new technologies
  6. Provide accurate, timely and well presented information, data and sector intelligence to the Executive Management Team (EMT) and Board
  7. Manage risk across all areas of Property Services, ensuring that EMT and Board are informed of areas of concern and advise on corrective actions and mitigation
  8. Ensure compliance with quality assurance and auditing requirements and recommendations
  9. Develop and implement strategy to deliver the future needs of Property Services in line with the Group Strategy and Financial Plan
  10. Develop new profitable income streams to contribute to the viability of the emh group

Leadership responsibilities

  1. Lead, motivate and inspire employees by fostering a trust based culture of engagement
  2. Act as an ambassador for emh internally and externally promoting the organisation as a partner, employer and service provider of choice
  3. Lead consultation and negotiation with employees and their representatives to ensure employee relations underpin service provision
  4. As a member of the Senior Management Team of emh group participate (and lead where appropriate) in Homes and wider group initiatives and projects
  5. Deputise for Executive Director Housing as appropriate
